I lead analytics and data engineering teams, and I hold them to one standard: good data should catch something moving while it’s still small, before it’s obvious to everyone else.
Seven years of building the foundations that make that possible — warehouses, event pipelines, experimentation frameworks — and the teams who own them.
What drew me into analytics was how close it sits to real decisions. You take a question that starts out vague, give it structure, and at some point the next step just becomes clear. Years in, that moment still feels exciting to me.
Building and scaling teams, setting clear ownership, and putting in the operating rhythm that makes delivery predictable instead of heroic.
Warehouses, event pipelines and BI that people actually trust — fast enough that nobody works around them.
A/B frameworks, competitor analysis and dynamic pricing, wired closely enough to the business to move margin.
Getting AI tooling into daily engineering work, and staying honest about which judgement calls it still cannot make.
Though I’m aware how it can sound from the outside:
ever since i was young i wanted to transform unstructured data into actionable business insights
The best data does more than look backwards. It shows you what’s about to move.
Leading the analytics and data engineering teams, and shaping the company’s data strategy.
A player-coach role spanning data architecture, product pricing and decision-making.
Laying the groundwork for a data-driven culture.
Where the analytics habit started — search, traffic and content, measured properly.
A self-hosted pipeline that pulls my WHOOP recovery, sleep and strain data alongside Yazio nutrition, then has Claude write a short, grounded daily briefing and a weekly digest with charts — delivered to my phone over Telegram.
It started as a spreadsheet: bloodwork PDFs, genetic raw data and WHOOP exports parsed into one workbook. Once the static version existed, the obvious next step was making it live.
I play guitar and piano — what I reach for when a problem needs to sit unattended for a while. Two of my own compositions:
St. Valentine
Miss You
The rest of my curiosity tends to end up pointed at my own data — which is how the health-coach project above went from a folder of medical PDFs to something that messages me every morning.
